I sat and stupid for a long time - I could not think of a name for this work ... Something strange is happening in my work. Usually I know very clearly what I want and fairly soberly evaluate the results. Desires and results do not always find a compromise, but I still understand whether the work was successful or not. And then a stupor ... I submitted documents for joining the Union of Russian Watercolorists and Olga Petrol @olgapetrol recalled my work “And this will pass” (or simply “Storm”) as expressive. She really is and, by the way, won the Audience Award at the Biennale in Alushta last year. And looking at this still life, I wondered - WHERE is my expression?!? I feel hostage to Sanders - his soft glamorous overflows confuse me. Or maybe I still haven’t really learned how to write on it? What do you prefer in my performance - soft glamorous works or expressive brushstrokes?

Actually, I want to call this work: "The torture by the sanders lasted several days." I wanted to make the composition more complicated and as a result I got a hodgepodge with a breakdown of all possible techniques and techniques on Sanders - paper with which I find it most difficult to find a common language. And now I already understood how and what I really want in the new production ... bang and the second shift. A few days with fever and a hell of a headache in bed. Where are the classic snot and colds ??? What wild new hybrids of viruses with brittleness, nausea and the inability to put a poor head on a pillow ??? A complete separation from reality ... What are grenades and watercolors ?! Oh! And the picture of the perfect still life with grenades was so clear ...

The other day, my son’s birthday happened, and with him a zoo and a picnic in the mountains. I have a favorite place in our surroundings. Each time, from the beauty, spaciousness and infinity of this place, my soul stiffens. To me, a native of a close crowded metropolis, this INFINITY seems like an incomprehensible miracle. Neither photographs nor etude convey the immense harmony and perfection of that place. The same End of the World ...

After returning from Sochi, I thought that I would post a bunch of posts with the final versions of sketches and descriptions of the impressions of the festival ... No. Burnt out.
In short, the festival was generally liked. She completed almost all the tasks set for herself: I tried acrylic, tried a bunch of watercolors and brushes, watched the demos, met interesting artists for me, or rather, mostly artists.

This is my spoiled arsh leaf. When I wrote, everything seemed hopeless to me - so the result was different from what I wanted to get. The next day I went again and ruined the sheet again ... Even worse in my understanding. And on viewing our team, this option caused the delight of others and was selected for the exhibition. Yes, for some reason, the curators of our team "did not see the point" to put ALL the work and limited it - 2 per nose. Well, okay, this dubious contest caused some questions and surprise. A watercolor - maybe not as clean as I wanted, but still caught the condition. So right?

There is a wonderful Grusha restaurant in the mountain Olympic village @grusha_rest . There are wonderful khachapuri and a veranda with unique art fireplaces. It was one of these fireplaces that became the prototype and served as the muse for this illustration

"Flacon" ("FLACON" - the name of the exhibition complex in the Mountain Olympic Village). A quick etude with acrylic.
On the last sunny day and after the crisis, I again "slipped" to acrylic (well, her, this watercolor!). From a patch of shadow on the open air site, I have already copied all the interesting things and rested on the battered look of the Flacon building. I decided to try to leave in a stylized abstract version. It didn’t really work out, but still in that direction. In general, with acrylic at this stage everything is clear to me and the goal is achieved.
