Opening the rose season. In fact, in the Crimea, they have been blooming for a couple of weeks, and this unique giant rose has already been mercilessly eaten by beetles. It is more than 2 meters in height, and the trunks are like young birch trees. Rose tree. Today I cut off the last buds and they are already ugly gnawed by bronzes and "alyonkas". But this year I managed to stock up on photos and grab a little from nature. This rose is the most picturesque and interesting of all that I have seen. It’s a pity that I don’t know the name of the variety - I stole a branch on the street. But for some reason it seems to me that the variety is very old. A huge disheveled flower opens from a small angular bud - each is unique in shape and curls inside. The bud is bright orange-crimson, as it opens, it turns into a creamy coral, then into a pale pink-lilac with tightly wrapped petals in the corners. Does anyone know what variety this is?

By the middle of this work, the fuse mysteriously evaporated. I tried to persuade myself to finish for several days and finished it off by force. What's happened?!? I don't know... It's more interesting to paint from nature, but it's more difficult - the flowers open before our eyes, wriggle and wither. The heat is too fast. Blooming peonies and roses did not step on the heels, which the bronze beetles unfortunately devour - and I tormented all the irises. By the end, the work was already pissing me off. Now she is carried away by a different nature, and over time, the perception has smoothed out - very much even nothing. Let it be here.

What kind of irises breeders just did not bring out !!! All sorts of colors, sizes and degrees of openwork. My assortment of these flowers in the garden is not large and simple, but my friend @natasha_volns has a neighbor who breeds them for sale. Here I marveled at the modesty of my collection. Blue ones the size of my head!!! Well, maybe a little smaller, but they are so huge that I psychologically couldn’t fit them on half a sheet - that’s all! And the aroma...

The iris season is open! Oh, what a pity that mine suffered from the construction site last year ... I have to run to my friend for nature 😭 Irises are probably the most popular watercolor flower. Only the lazy didn't write them. And each time they are a discovery and a new universe 😍 Option on a light and dark background ... Which one do you like best?

In one breath she combined watercolor painting and strokes from pasty techniques - my love and expression! This is probably my first time when it seemed to me that I wrote a real masterpiece! I could not stop looking and stop. The next day, of course, I calmed down and even found a bunch of things that could be improved / corrected. BUT it's watercolor! It is better to write a dozen more options and then clearly understand what is better after all.

A study from last spring - still could not force myself to finish it. New tulips are about to go, but I can’t figure it out last year! In general, I hardly return to unfinished work. I took 2 pieces with me - irises and these tulips and both on the baohong ... And here is what I noticed - I spoiled the irises with some masochistic zeal and barely resisted the tulips from being sent there.

Also on video @ekaterina_maltseva_art. My toad woke up and I took cellulose (I always feel sorry for good paper for experiments, marathons, etc.). Then I dug in a little and missed the birch whiteness. Without a preliminary drawing and without a nature / photo, a very dubious composition was obtained. But the experience of writing the whole work upside down was amazingly visual - how we stereotypically transform reality! In order to freely complete the branches at the final stage, I had to turn the work over since the usual movements in the opposite direction did not work out completely! Conclusion - you need to get a small thin thinner.

My day yesterday was devoted to the study of the wonderful @ekaterina_maltseva_art.
And specifically - the use of a palette knife and spray in watercolor. I have an ivory palette knife from oil and it was not easy to wield it. Plus, for the experiment, I took a sheet damaged on one side, but did not take into account that it was damaged due to the marriage of the sheet (forgot!). And do not let blurry clouds and smudges come out of this marriage.

Take number 3 and take number 2 (in the carousel) - find 10 differences.
In today's difficult times, I come across more and more statements that drawing "is the best remedy for stress, it will help to distract from problems." Everyone who can can write with rapture how great it is and how they can’t live without it. For some reason, everything is completely wrong with me. For me, painting is the extreme between the "flight of delight" and the "rage of failure."
