In addition to the exhibition, Bazanova walked through all the exhibitions that were there. I was very touched by the hall with the work of Leo of Moscow. She knew nothing about this artist - he mainly worked with Soviet children's publications, and painting was his hobby. Some watercolors and illustrations are so moving, characteristic and with a delicate sense of humor that I decided to show them to you. Even in the artist’s photo - you can immediately see that a person with humor and sincerely loves children (at least shoot in a children's movie!). It’s a pity, I couldn’t take photos of many works - the glass glittered and was highly cheerful. I looked at his watercolors and thought - what brands of paper and paints?!? Never mind!!! The main thing is completely different ...

I arranged for myself a museum day off. Visited Elena Bazanova’s exhibition @elenabazanova_art in the house of the Union of Artists. In the carousel are some fragments that seemed interesting to me. I don’t post all the work - in Elena’s account they are of much better quality. Very impressive! From her work, it blows with purity, fundamentality with shades of classics - you can’t argue! She was associated with me exclusively with still lifes, and she has wonderful landscapes. If anyone in St. Petersburg can still be in time, tomorrow is the last day of the exhibition (March 1). Highly recommend!

In June, the Biennale will be like watercolor painting in Alushta (Crimea). I am going to participate in this event. In the last biennale 2 years ago, I unexpectedly won the audience prize. It was a storm "And it will also pass" Now I have a stereotype that only the sea needs to be written there. I wrote 2 completely different landscapes in terms of mood and now I can’t choose.

And another artist that I really liked, Andrey Selenin @andreyselenin . I have a biased attitude towards oil - everywhere I see the predecessors (great artists of the 16th and 20th centuries). Well, there is very little in the oil of something new and original, especially technically. And then I really liked it!

Second artist Oleg Timoshin @olegtimoshin_art . I knew him, but I am not a fan of his delicately glamorous landscapes and flowers. But one work interested me technically (it’s just in a carousel with fragments). From the graphite image on the canvas, the sunflowers are moving to a textured plastic mass and watercolor on top of it. There was a lot of plastic in the works at the fair, but somehow it is alien to me.

The other day I visited the Poneaili exhibition fair @ ponaehali.spb and I want to share my impressions with you. The event is quite extensive, well organized and quite crowded despite the fact that it is far from the city center (Shushary). A lot of artists, jewelers, collectors, a little antiques (I didn’t expect antiques to be seen there at all) and even a living fox on a leash (someone’s pet).
